Slack

Publish alerts and post approvals in your team's Slack workspace

What it does

Once connected, Nimply posts to a Slack channel of your choice when:

  • a post publishes (with a link to the live post)
  • a post fails (with the error, so you can fix it before a client notices)
  • a social account disconnects and needs reconnecting
  • a post is submitted for approval — the message carries Approve / Reject buttons, so admins can decide without opening Nimply

You choose which of these events are sent, per workspace.

Connect

  1. In Nimply, go to Settings → Integrations → Slack and click Add to Slack.
  2. Slack asks you to pick your Slack workspace and approve — you need the OWNER or ADMIN role in the Nimply workspace.
  3. Back in Nimply, choose the channel alerts go to and toggle the events you want. Nothing is sent until a channel is chosen.

The bot can post to any public channel. To use a private channel, invite the bot to it in Slack first.

Approvals from Slack

Approval-request messages include Approve and Reject buttons. When someone clicks one, Nimply matches their Slack profile email to a Nimply account:

  • The email must belong to a Nimply user who is an OWNER or ADMIN of the workspace — the same rule as approving in the app.
  • Anyone else gets a private explanation and the post is untouched.
  • The decision is recorded in Nimply's normal approval history ("Approved from Slack"), and the Slack message updates to show who decided.

Troubleshooting

  • No messages arriving — check a channel is selected and the event is toggled on under Settings → Integrations → Slack; then confirm the bot wasn't removed from the channel.
  • Approve button says my email doesn't match — your Slack profile email must equal your Nimply login email, and your role must be OWNER or ADMIN.
  • Disconnecting — Settings → Integrations → Slack → Disconnect. Access is revoked immediately; reconnect any time.
